SARCOA CAREGIVER ASSISTANCE: SARCOA's Caregiver Assistance program provides services that help caregivers to continue caregiving efforts which allows care-recipients to remain in the community for a longer period of time. Services are: Information and assistance, respite care in the home, institutional (Assisted Living Facility) respite care, counseling, supplemental services (sponsorship for emergency response system, incontinent and other caregiving supplies, home delivered meals and nutritional supplements. Families may also ask about "family caregiver subsidies" while not recognized in Alabama wholly, there may be some programs that provide subsidies.
Eligibility: - Primary caregivers of adults age 60 and older, or caregivers of an individual any age with a dementia-related diagnosis
- Grandparents or relative (except parents), age 55+ caring for children age 18 and younger, or caring for children of any age with a severe disability
