Homeless Services at Love In Action.
Weekly Schedule
Below is the normal weekly schedule at Love In Action. Our ministry center is located at 279 W. Main St. in downtown Dothan, Alabama.
Donations such as non-perishable food, hygiene items, and clothes may be dropped off at our ministry center Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Tuesdays & Thursdays - Acts of Compassion:
Every Tuesday and Thursday, and the first three Saturdays of each month, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., LIA serves the homeless and poor in Dothan, Alabama, at the Love In Action Ministry Center, suite 6. They provide non-perishable food items, hygiene items and clothing free of charge. They wash clothes for the homeless, and the homeless can take showers. They also serve a hot meal and offer prayer. The homeless also receive a snack bag to take with them.
Wednesdays & Fridays - Mobile Kitchen:
Every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30 p.m. They serve plates of food to the homeless and poor in Dothan with our Love In Action Mobile Kitchen. They go to different locations where the homeless frequent and to low rent hotels. They also take the mobile kitchen out on some Saturdays.
Thursdays - Samaritan Clinic at Love In Action:
Samaritan Clinic - Thursday - 4-7 p.m. - Suite 3 at Love In Action - A free health, eye and dental clinic for the homeless, people living in group homes, and inmates at Houston County Community Corrections Work Release program. Medical professionals give of their time and talents to provide quality care to each patient. LIA volunteers serve dinner to the patients and offer prayer for them.
Saturdays:
Food Pantry/Clothes closet for the Homeless/Shower and Laundry for Homeless - Saturday - 9:00 am-11:00 am - Suite 6
(Love In Action is open on the first 3 Saturdays of the month)
Love In Action is closed on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays and the last Saturday of each month
Volunteers and Donations are needed on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of this agency
