FAMILY FOCUS EDUCATION CLASSES:
INTRODUCTION TO CHILDBIRTH/BREATHING & RELAXATION
This class is an overview of the childbirth process at Flowers Hospital. This program answers your questions related to pain control, the process and stages of labor, methods of delivery, breathing techniques and comfort strategies as related to the birthing process.
PARENT PREPARATION CLASS
This class is designed to offer recommendations and information in providing care for your newborn. A pediatrician and members of our Nursery Staff will be available to answer any questions.
FUNDAMENTALS OF BREASTFEEDING
Instruction is provided by our Lactation Counselor on making choices related to breastfeeding and how to get started.
BABY SAVER
A course presented by our Education Department that addresses issues of safety for infants. This class also provides demonstration on the technique of infant CPR and choking.
BIG BROTHER/BIG SISTER
This class assists in preparing your children for the "new addition". This class is designed for children ages 3-8 and includes a tour of our nursery, mom's room, and a short video. A parent must accompany child/children at all time.
POSTPARTUM
This class is designed to help new mothers take care of themselves physically and emotionally throughout the changes they experience after the baby is born. The class will also discuss causes of discomfort and how these symptoms can be managed.
