Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) provides comprehensive education and service programs of superior quality for children and adults who are deaf, blind, deaf-blind and multidisabled and their families. - Counseling for deaf and blind clients and families (all ages)
- Support groups such as National Federation of the Blind and Self-help for the Hard of Hearing
- Early Intervention Services from birth up
- Interpreter Services
- Free telecommunication equipment for the elderly and disabled
- Take referrals from Childfind, physicians, service agencies and self-referrals
- Screening and testing is provided on referral to determine eligibility and needed services
- Case management programs for deaf, hard of hearing, blind, and visually impaired. Special programs for the elderly hard of hearing
- Technology room where clients can try out devices before they purchase them (i.e., amplified phones, special television sets, Braille translators, etc., also have a Braille embosser at the facility)
