Legal Services:
LSA provides representation to low income individuals and families with civil legal problems. Their main areas include eviction from private and public housing; helping on claims for SSI, social security, food stamps, Family Assistance (ADC) and unemployment compensation; Divorces(in Domestic Abuse Cases) and Protection from Abuse - both limited to abuse victims; school expulsions; special education problems; defending collection lawsuits; Chapter 7 bankruptcy for people at risk of immediate loss of wages, drivers license or other similar loss.
Foreclosure Services:
Legal Services Alabama (LSA) may be able to provide mortgage foreclosure prevention counseling and assistance. LSA is also a HUD certified organization. LSA may be able to provide free foreclosure prevention and budget counseling services to struggling homeowners, and to assist clients with mortgage loan modifications.
