Description Assists eligible individuals with performing daily tasks safely in their own home. Services include: 
  • Feeding
  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Housekeeping
  • Accompanying individuals to medical appointments 
  • Paramedical services
  • Protective supervision
IHSS recipients are responsible for finding their own home care providers. Also responsible for firing if services are not performed according to client's specifications. Program
Eligibility California resident age 65 or older or blind or disabled, live in his/her own home, has a Medi-Cal eligibility determination; and complete submit a Health Care Certification Form from their physicians.

Program Fees No fee
Application Process Complete online application can be submitted via mail, fax, or in person. Have physician complete the Health Care Certification Form. After a home visit by Social Worker. Client will be notified if they qualify via letter.
Documents Required Health Care Certification form [SOC 873] completed by a Licensed Health Care Professional.
