REBATES AND ENERGY CALCULATOR: Offers the Smart Energy Savers Program and Home Performance with Energy Star program for its residential customers to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Provides the Online Energy Calculator, offering information on how energy is being used within the home and provides energy saving tips.
Offers the Thermostat Peak Rewards to BGE residential customers with central air conditioning or an electric heat pump in good working order. Customers can choose either a Honeywell programmable thermostat or a Switch which will be professionally installed at no fee. Once enrolled, the customer agrees to help ease high electricity demand by allowing BGE to "cycle" their air conditioning on and off from time to time, typically during the summer months when electricity demand is at its peak.
* Cycling Choices. Choose 50%, 75% or 100% cycling. The higher the cycling level, the higher the billing credits on the BGE bill will be - $50, $75 or $100 each summer a customer participates.
* Matching bonus, which doubles your credits during the first year of participation.

Eligibility
|
BGE customers. Must have a SmartMeter for Energy Calculator Program. Rebates are available for Energy Star clothes washers, refrigerators, freezers, CFLs, HVAC, and building insulation. Please consult program list of qualifying products for items before making purchase. The CFL rebates are given in the form of a marked-down price at participating retailers. A list of participating retailers is located on the program website.

Application Process
|
The appliance rebate application is located on the program website, and must be mailed in (accompanied by the sales receipt) within 60 days of equipment purchase date. Call for more information.
