The Shasta County Tobacco Education Program (TEP) educates the community about tobacco issues. Topics include laws, current research, and local tobacco-use statistics. Works with retailers, housing complexes, workplaces, schools, and youth to: - Keep tobacco products out of the hands of youth
- Help tobacco-users quit
- Assist all people to live, work, and play in a tobacco-free community.
The Shasta County Tobacco Education Coalition (TEC) provides a group of advocates. Services include: - Representing various agencies and the public
- Raising awareness about the harmful effects and environmental impacts of tobacco
- Developing tobacco-free laws and policies
- Acting as the advisory board for the TEP.
The TEC meets every month, third Wednesday, 11:30am-1pm. For meeting details, call 530-229-8469.
