SMOKING CESSATION: Provides Freedom From Smoking through ChristianaCare Elkton Hospital. Offers an in-person, seven-week program with a total of eight, 60-minute sessions, with the quit day being established in week 4 and meet twice that week for maximum support. Provides information on the following topics: tobacco use dependency; physical, mental, and social factors associated with quitting; stress management, relapse prevention, how to self-monitor, and maintain motivation.
REPLACEMENT THERAPY VOUCHER: Assists with paying for nicotine and non-nicotine replacement therapy aids. Provides up to three vouchers for Nicotine Gum, Nicotine Transdermal Patch, Nicotine Lozenges, or prescriptions like Chantix and Zyban, as long as grant funding lasts. VAPING CESSATION: Offers a vape-free school initiative for local youth called INDEPTH: An intervention for Nicotine Dependence, Education, Prevention, Tobacco, and Health in partnership with the Cecil County Neighborhood Youth Panel (NYP). Provides four, 50-minute sessions that can be held one-on-one or in a group setting and is administered by an adult. Each session focuses on a different topic, including factual information, understanding nicotine dependence, identifying alternatives, and future planning.
