Offers training, education, and resources to reduce stigma and promote help-seeking. Some services include: - You Matter Shasta website: Provides tools and resources to help prevent suicide. Visit website: YouMatterShasta.org.
- Shasta Suicide Prevention Collaborative: Members aim to reduce suicide attempts and deaths in Shasta County. They carry out their work through collaboration, advocacy, education, training, and evaluation.
- The Collaborative meets every other month on the second Tuesday of the month, 2:30-4pm. This is an open meeting, and all are welcome to attend. Call the main phone or email for meeting information.
- Captain Awesome Campaign: Provides mental health education and resources to men in Shasta County. Visit website: www.Captain-Awesome.org.
- Resource Distribution: Program offers free suicide prevention resources to local partners, organizations, businesses and schools. (988 Lifeline cards, for example.) To request resources, call the main phone or email.
- Suicide Prevention Trainings: Provide Shasta County community members with skills to identify suicide warning signs. They also learn how to connect people at risk to a crisis resource.
