Description
|
EARLY HEAD START: Provides a childcare center on-site while parents work on obtaining their GED and job training courses. Offers encouragement and support to parents to be involved in their children's education. Staff makes home visits to help the parents make their home and it's surrounding a learning environment. Families are also educated about nutrition, health and development screenings. During home visits to pregnant women, staff educates them about pre-natal care, fetal development, labor/delivery and breast feeding.
TWO GENERATION PROJECT: Provides case manager services to families by assessing family strengths, needs, progress, identifying target areas, developing family goals and objectives. By focusing on these priorities, workers may assist the families in combating intergenerational poverty and moving towards achieving self-sufficiency.

Eligibility
|
Low-income families with children ages 6 weeks to 3 years and pregnant women. For Two Generation Project, must be a family member of a child enrolled in Early Head Start and meet the poverty guideline of 180%.
