Description	J. KENT MCNEW ACUTE INPATIENT TREATMENT: Offers acute inpatient mental health services through a short-term psychiatric treatment program. Accepts both voluntary and involuntary patients. Utilizes a variety of therapies, which are individualized to meet each patient’s unique needs. Available services include assessment and treatment by a psychiatrist and other care team members; individual support and therapy, group therapy, family involvement, education, psychoeducation groups; occupational therapy; goal setting/skills development and expressive therapies. The McNew Medical Center is not an emergency facility and is unable to receive walk-in patients, people experiencing a medical or mental health crisis should call 911.

Eligibility	Individuals 18 years and older.

Languages Offered	Interpreter available.
Program Fees	Accepts Medical Assistance (Medicaid, MA), private insurance, and private payment. Sliding fee scale.
Application Process	Referral from a hospital’s emergency department when a patient has presented voluntarily or on an emergency petition, has received an emergency psychiatric assessment, and has met criteria for admission.
