|
NEWBORN VISIT: 90-minute to 2-hour visit by a registered nurse 3 weeks after the birth of a baby, regardless of where baby was born. Supports clients, answers questions, and discusses concerns. Assesses multiple factors related to the health of infant and parent. Connects family with community resources. Nurse remains available to family for 12 weeks. Visit can take place in-home, at an agreed-upon location, or virtually. This service is in addition to (not in place of) well baby visits with the pediatrician and a 6-week postpartum visit.

Eligibility
|
Open to all Frederick County families: foster, adoptive, same-sex, transgender, and caregivers who are not mothers. Undocumented families are welcome to schedule a visit; nurses do not check citizenship.
