Description
|
WATER UTILITIES: Oversees the disposal of wastewater throughout portions of the county by maintaining and operating local wastewater and clean water systems. Also provides inspection of public water systems, enforces clean water regulations, and responds to complaints about water integrity. The county purchases all potable water from regional supplies, then distributes and sells to individual customers. - Does NOT maintain systems in Cumberland, Frostburg, LaVale, Luke, and Westernport. Please contact respective city, town, or LaVale Sanitary Commission.
- Does NOT have access to septic tank records or maintain a list of certified septic contractors or haulers. Please contact Allegany Health Department.
- Does NOT provide any electrical power, natural gas, cable, or streetlights. Please contact private utility companies for those services.
