Baltimore County DSS, Adoption
Description
FOSTERING: Provides services which allows foster children who are not able to return to their families, to be placed with adoptive parents. Services can be provided at the direct request of the child's birth parents, or initiated by foster care staff for children who have been in foster care with no chance of returning to their families. Most of the children with a plan of adoption have special needs and disabilities. Children are placed with foster/adoptive resource families who have previously applied to be a foster parent or adopt and have been approved to do so through a home study process. Foster care and adoption home studies are available at no cost to families interested in foster parenting and adopting.
