Description

REHABILITATION SUPPORT: Provides leadership and support promoting the employment, economic self-sufficiency, and independence of individuals with disabilities. Assists individuals in choosing services to help them enter or return to work or meet their independent living goals. Vocational counseling; physical and mental restoration services; communications and equipment services; rehabilitation technology services and job training and placement may be arranged. Makes referrals to the Workforce Technology Center.

ELIGIBILITY for VOCATIONAL SERVICES: One must 1) have a physical or mental impairment which is a substantial impediment to employment; 2) be able to benefit in terms of employment outcome from the services provided; and 3) need vocational rehabilitation services to prepare for, engage in or maintain employment.

INDEPENDENT LIVING FOR OLDER BLIND: One must 1) must be 55 or older blind individual; 2) have substantially limited ability to function independently in the family or community; and 3) be able to function better in the family, community, or employment with independent living services.

NOTE: Must be a Maryland resident with a disability.
