Description
|
FOSTER CARE: Places children in either foster homes or group homes when it is clearly determined that they can no longer remain in their own homes. Placements are court-ordered or through voluntary parent agreement, depending on the nature of the case. Returning home is the primary focus of DSS, and services are provided toward that end.
FOSTER/ADOPTIVE HOME LICENSING: A program that requires licenses for those families providing 24-hour care for non-related children. Once approved, foster parents receive board payments, a Medical Assistance card, and an initial clothing allowance when needed for the support of the foster child. Must complete training course before receiving license.
