Description
|
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides an emergency assistance grant to families with children. Assists with court-ordered evictions, foreclosures, utility cut-offs, and burial assistance. Assists families with crises, including food and shelter emergencies, provides counseling services to help families overcome problems of parenting, parent-child conflict, and family dysfunction. Benefits are limited to one grant in a 24 month period to families with children under age 21. Occasionally assists those in public housing/Section 8. Children 18-21 must be enrolled full-time in school. Burial assistance is open to those individuals who were receiving cash assistance or SSI benefits at the time of their death.

Documents Required
|
Must provide proof of need such as utility cut-off and/or eviction notice and that they have an emergency not caused by a family member quitting a job, Social Security cards for all household members, and proof of address and income.
