Description EMERGENCY SHELTER: Dorothy Day Place is a transitional shelter for single, adult men and women who are homeless and over the age of 18.

Case management services at the shelter include job readiness, educational services, life skills training, mental health support and substance abuse counseling, information and referral.

*Note: No children are allowed or accepted into this program, single adults only.
Defined coverage areas:
Maryland - Montgomery County
 
Hours Of Operation 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
Disabilities Access Accessible.

Eligibility Adults, 18 years and older only. No children.
Eligibility: Adult: Yes; Female: Yes; Male: Yes;
Program Fees 30% of adjusted income.
Application Process Accepts referrals from crisis centers and emergency homeless services agencies only.
Documents Required Must have current TB test results and photo ID.
Service Capacity 18 men and 19 women
Normal Wait Times Two weeks
Volunteer Requirements 21 and older.
Volunteer Duties Individuals interested in preparing meals for our residents, conducting life skills workshops and offering facility support.
