Description
|
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides temporary income support while helping families become independent. Unless meeting certain exemption criteria, clients are required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week in exchange for TCA. Monthly grant amounts vary by household size and by the amount of other income the family receives.
JOB ASSESSMENT/TRAINING: Provides assessments for clients to determine prior job skills, work history, education, and need for referrals to other agencies. In addition, issues such as transportation and daycare are addressed during the initial assessment. After all barriers to employment have been resolved, the customer is given job referrals. Once the customer is hired, job retention services are initiated to assist the employee in maintaining their new employment.
-Job Club: Offers training module classes held for 4 weeks for those entering the job market. The classes are designed to give support and training to these individuals and to offer them a chance to meet and network with others in similar situations. Job Club includes visits by local employers and community representatives from other agencies.
