Description SUBSIDIZED HOUSING: Currently there is a waiting list. Applications are selected on a first come, first serve basis. The program pays a portion of the monthly rent for persons in crisis. Assistance is available for 6-12 months and is not renewable. Amount of assistance varies with family size. To be eligible, the person must homeless, in danger of becoming homeless, or in need of emergency housing. Applicants must have been TCA eligible or collecting TCA for last 12 months. Referrals are accepted from programs such as the Red Cross, hospitals, shelters, and health care providers. Applicant must be employed or in the process of getting a job unless receiving monthly monetary government assistance. The housing unit must pass a housing inspection.

Eligibility Baltimore City residents, 18 and older, who are experiencing a housing crisis and need emergency assistance. Eligibility is based on a case by case basis. Eligible residents are low-income families who are homeless, in danger of becoming homeless, or in need of emergency housing. Incomes of assisted households cannot exceed 30 percent of the statewide or area median income, whichever is higher.
