Description COMPANION SERVICES: Provides assistance to adults with physical, emotional, or mental health limitations, most are older adults. Senior Companions are volunteers age 60 years of age and older who are trained, receive a minimal stipend ($2.65 per hour), and work 15-20 hours a week. Individuals may have difficulty with daily living skills, and Senior Companions provide support for individuals to maintain their independence. Seniors may choose either In-Home Care where they receive four hours a day with a senior companion or Respite Care, where the companion relieves a caregiver who typically lives in the senior's home.

Eligibility Individuals 55 and older with low income.
Program Fees None.
Application Process Interview, criminal background check and free physical examination. Actual process depends on program. Call for more information.
