FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides emergency financial assistance for the following needs:

- RENTAL ASSISTANCE: Provides assistance with court-ordered evictions. Individuals are eligible for assistance once every 12 months. Orientation is usually held on the 1st of the Month. If the 1st falls on a weekend, it will be held on the first Monday of the month at 8:30AM. Doors lock at 8:45AM. Assistance is not guaranteed, but it is required to attend the orientation to be considered for the program.

- Rental Assistance is provided via a lottery system ON THE FIRST OF EACH MONTH only.
- Applicants must call a day or two before the first of the coming month to be added to the list. This DOES NOT guarantee that assistance will be provided.
- Anyone calling outside of this window will be told there are no funds available. 

- UTILITY ASSISTANCE: Offers assistance with gas and electric bills. Maryland Fuel Fund, sometimes called the BGE Match Fund; client pays 2/3 of their bill and Fuel Fund of MD will match the other 1/3. *NOT ASSOCIATED WITH the Washington Area Fuel Fund (see separate listing). Call and schedule an appointment. Available year round. 

- WATER BILL ASSISTANCE: Assists Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) customers only with their water bill. Must attend orientation to be considered for the program. Best time to call is at the end of the month to find out the orientation date for the following month.

MUST have ALL of the following required documentation:
--Valid Maryland ID card.
--ID for all household members.
--Proof of all income sources (pay stubs/DSS/child support, food stamp letter).
--Proof of expenses (current electric, gas, oil, water bills; car payment and insurance, etc).
--Proof of residence (Section 8, public housing or HUD).
--Must provide the paper including the break-down of family members, monthly rent and birth certificates for all children, ages 12 years and under.

Eligibility Cannot exceed 150% of poverty level index.

Documents Required Must provide proof of identity, residency (lease), birth certificates for any minors in the household, proof of household income, a copy of the bill.
