Provides free to low-cost medical insurance for qualifying California residents of all ages. Covers essential health benefits including: - Outpatient, emergency and hospitalization services
- Maternity, newborn care and pediatric care
- Mental health and substance use disorder services
- Prescription drugs and laboratory services
- Physical, occupational and rehabilitative therapy
- Preventive care and chronic disease management
- Pediatric dental and limited adult dental services

Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC) administers the Medi-Cal program in Shasta County. Please view their listing on 2-1-1 for more information, including a list of local providers.
Pregnant women and children may qualify for Presumptive Eligibility (PE). This is a temporary Medi-Cal program. Provides immediate health care coverage while applying for Medi-Cal. This is generally issued through qualified hospitals and health care centers.
