SYMPTOMS/TESTING & VACCINATION UPDATES:     
COVID-19 QUESTIONS/TESTING INFORMATION:  Effective September 21st, information about available testing sites and hours of operation statewide will now be available on the general COVID-19 hotline, 800-270-7268 or email covid19info@adph.state.al.us. The toll-free line is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

For Seniors:  Information may be available at 334-242-5743 or 1-877-425-2243.  
SYMPTOMS:  
Symptoms of COVID-19 appear within two to 14 days after exposure and include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you are having symptoms or feel ill, please call your physician, your clinic or your emergency department before showing up.  This disease is highly contagious, and the healthcare provider can advise you whether you should be tested or not. 

VACCINATION INFORMATION (Updated 4/5/2021)

Current Phase Qualifications:  COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility Has Been Expanded in Alabama to Include Individuals Age 16 and Older.
The Pfizer vaccine is available to individuals age 16 and up, and the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are both available to individuals 18 years of age and older.

VACCINATION SCHEDULING BY PHONE- 
To schedule an appointment for the free COVID-19 vaccination, individuals must call the ADPH toll-free phone number at 1-855-566-5333.  Telephone calls are answered from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. seven days a week. 
 
DO NOT CONTACT YOUR LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE COVID VACCINE, MUST CALL 1-855-566-5333.

SouthEast Health:  Walk-in - Southeast Health will begin on Monday, April 18 offering COVID-19 vaccines with or without an appointment. Hours for those without an appointment are:
  • Monday – Thursday:       9:00 am-3:00 pm
  • Friday:                             9:00 am-12:00 Noon
The vaccines are administered in the West Parking Garage drive-in clinic. Designated lanes will be available for those who do not have an appointment. Southeast is still offering self-scheduling through their website and there will be express lanes for those who have an appointment.
If you come without an appointment, please be patient while registering into the electronic records system. 
Insurance is not required, but be prepared to show a photo ID and a copy of your insurance card if you have one.
There is no out-of-pocket cost to receive the vaccine.

COVID RELATED FUNERAL EXPENSES  (Updated 4/5/2021)  
In early April, FEMA will begin providing financial assistance for funeral expenses incurred after Jan. 20, 2020 for deaths related to coronavirus (COVID-19) to help ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the pandemic.  Families must provide the following with the application:
  • An official death certificate that attributes the death to COVID-19
  • Funeral expense documents (receipts, funeral home contract, etc.)
  • Proof of funds received from other sources

STIMULUS PACKAGES FOR INDIVIDUALS  (Updated 4/16/2021)  
STIMULUS PAYMENTS (Third Cycle/2021 Economic Impact Payment)

NOTE:  SOCIAL SECURITY RECIPIENTS ARE EXPERIENCING A DELAY IN RECEIVING THEIR CHECKS-THOSE PAYMENTS WILL GO OUT STARTING APRIL 7TH 2021  (Updated41/6/2021)
(There are still delays with Social Security Recipients Stimulus checks, but they have started to send them out 4/7/21 and 
  • Expect payments to start going out the week of March 12th, though it could take a while longer if you're getting a paper check or pre-paid debit card instead.
  • The payments would amount to $1,400 for a single person or $2,800 for a married couple filing jointly, plus an additional $1,400 for each dependent child. Individuals earning up to $75,000 would get the full payments, as would married couples with incomes up to $150,000. Payments would decline for incomes above those thresholds, phasing out above $80,000 for individuals and $160,000 for married couples.
  • The IRS advises people that if they don’t receive their Economic Impact Payment, they should file their 2020 tax return electronically and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their tax return to get their payment and any refund as quickly as possible.   
  • Please do not call the IRS about the stimulus payment; the phone assistors do not have additional information beyond what’s available on IRS.gov and in the Get My Payment application.

HEALTHCARE COVERAGE/AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (Updated 2/1/2021)
Due to Covid-related losses of jobs and health insurance the Department of Health and Human Services will reopen enrollment for the Affordable Care Act Healthcare to those who need coverage from February 15 until May 15 2021.
